When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to
move beyond the bounds of reality.
A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet.
A small child can be a superhero.

A girl can be a princess with a cape and  crown, even when it is handmade.

This session has been a work in progress for about 2 months. It all started when my girls made masks out of cardboard and then painted them. It inspired me to create a session with material the girls had made. Something they had created, and not store bought.  To add to their masks, we made crowns out of foam, painted, and then added some bling. Next on the list was a cape. I CANT sew. It is not one of my skills. So I turned to my friends for help and asked  if they knew how to use a sewing machine better than I can.  As luck would have it, one of them volunteered to make the capes. ( Thank you Miss Sarah!)

The session was so much fun for all of us. I did not direct the girls. I just let their BIG imaginations call the shots. They ran, they climbed, they walked and talked like princesses. At the end of the session, they enjoyed a flower cookie as their reward, as every princess does. ( Thank you, Miss Fabiana!)

I am happy to share these images with you. Enjoy!

PS Watch out for the super hero session we did at the beach with our masks and capes.
