The introduction of a new family member can be highly stressful for the first born babies. Their whole world is about to change, and they do not know it yet. However, when we include the first-born in the process and say words like “our baby” and “your brother or sister”, they begin to develop a love for their sibling. Another idea is to include the new big brother in the maternity portrait session. It sets the tone of the session and captures a new version of their family.

Juliana asked me to capture her sweet two year old son and husband in her maternity session. We planned, via Pinterest, the style of the session, and options for including her family. We had great fun sharing what we both liked, and I knew the session that Juliana desired.

One of her wishes was for a natural setting, lots of trees and grass, and attractive light. We met at a horse riding school on the outside of Sao Jose dos Campos at sunset. They read stories, played with balloons, and walked in the late afternoon sun. Whenever her little boy became bored,  we focused on Juliana and her baby belly. We finished as the sun went down, and the images reflect the lovely afternoon that we shared.

I am happy to share these images with you. Enjoy!
