The theme for the photo challenge by Project 12 is “Fire” this month. I am never sure what I will end up with, but luck was on my side.

This month we have been enjoying our winter vacation break, which you may be aware of from my Facebook page. Last week, we packed a simple picnic and went to the Mungabareena reserve in Albury. The Murray river is low at the moment, so we built a fire on the bank of the river. My children and our friends collected rocks, twigs, sticks and then toasted marshmallows (and doughnuts) in the gorgeous winter sun.

This is one of the few times that I have all of my children in one blog post. Yay! I  love the big blue sky and gum trees in the landscape. The smoke  also added a haze to the images, which you know I love.

I am happy to share these images with you. Enjoy!
