Wow! 8 weeks just flew by and now we have completed our first ever ‘Telling my story” workshop. I enjoyed every minute and found the process so inspiring. I love that we can all look at the same subject but have different interpretation of what we see. We can all go to the same park and return with different images. As the saying goes, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and this is so true in photography.

Over the last 8 weeks, we enjoyed getting to know our camera better, the settings on the camera, and when to use them.

We moved onto learning about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how we can use these settings to create interest in our images. We looked at composition techniques and how we can add impact to our photos. Lastly, we ventured out to a local park and captured images using all the new “rules”. We then looked at editing and how a few tweaks can add a  finishing touch to our photos.

I am happy to share with you that I will be holding another class, starting in August, 2012. The price is R$280 for the 8 week course. You need a camera ( preferably DLSR), 1 hour per week to attend class, and a small amount of  time to complete homework. An important part of the class is to submit images each week, which will be critiqued and discussed in class. There is no set theme for the submitted images, as you are learning to “tell your story” with your images.

Now, take a look at the images submitted by Linda and Leticia. Their commitment and attitude was just wonderful during our time together. Thank you!
